Patient safety is critical.  I know that I sometimes make fun of endeavors to increase safety. But only because I’m concerned that some of them make us less safe in the end, by creating distracting work or ‘one-size fits all’  rules for our emergency departments.  And I’m occasionally angered when they seem to come from people who have no idea what we do in the real world of patient care.

But when smart people, who pay attention to what goes on ‘in the trenches,’ suggest genuinely good ideas, I’ll listen.

Here are some video-links on the topic by fellow blogger, Paul Levy.  Paul is President and CEO of Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, in Boston, MA and an extremely smart guy.

I hope you enjoy them and find them educational!
