My name is Edwin Leap.  I'm an emergency medicine physician, in practice in Upstate South Carolina.  I am also a writer.  And that's really the reason for this site.  You aren't exactly going to come to the site in order to have me check you for appendicities or sew up your chin laceration.  I write for the Greenville News, in Greenville, South Carolina, and have been doing so for about ten years.  Currently I write a bi-monthly opinion column.  I also write a monthly column for Emergency Medicine News, a trade periodical in my specialty, published by Lippincott, Williams and Wilkins.  I have been in a number of other publications including Physician Magazine, Focus on the Family and Medical Economics.  I'm always looking for a new place for my writing to reach the public.
